At a home in Lancaster, PA, the red flowering Kalmia is seen here in bloom, with Sporobulus herterolopsis (Prairie Dropseed) as the groundcover. The grass is intermingled among everything is Phlox subulata (Moss Pink).
Above, the yellow flowers are Chrysogonum virginianum (Green and Gold). The dainty, lighter yellow flowers are Aquilegia canadensis ‘Corbet’ (Columbine). The tiny white flowers along the edges are Sedum ternatum ‘Larinem Park’ (Wild Stone Crop). The purplish foliage is Viola labradorica (Labrador Violet), and the pink flowers are Phlox Subulata (Moss Pink).
