A Lawnless Front Yard in Northern California
Northern California garden designer Michelle Derviss sent me these fabulous photos of a delawning project of hers. And she writes:
“The project consisted of a front yard motor court entry garden and a side yard gallery installation. The lawn that was ‘retired’ was located in the side yard, where the gallery is now located. Once the old tired lawn was liberated we set forth in creating a minimalist garden gallery consisting of colored concrete set in a grid pattern, gravel, core ten metal, concrete spheres, and a simple palette of planting consisting of bamboo, berberis, mondo grass and Japanese maple.”
